I’m gonna be real quick here…..suppers’s cookin’.  Today has been quite a day for the GOP.  Rick Perry dropped out.  Newt is rising in South Carolina and Romeny is droppin’ cuz he sooo rich.  There is yet another debate this evening with the remaining 4…. BUT….Mrs. Gingrich #2 has an interview on ABC Nightline tonight, also, and so far soooo juicy….;)

All is well on the homefront….got snow and now very cold.  But HEY! it’s winter in Iowa…Timer’s going off…

Please note the sunrise time…..From 12/31/11 until 1/10/12 it was 7:41.  Wednesday it changed to 7:40 and it is now 7:39.  That is 2 more minutes of daylight in the morning….#springiscoming

I am one happy camper this morning.  My Patriots beat the Broncos last night.  All the hype surrounding Tim Tebow made one feel like prior to the war in Iraq…..either you’re for the war or you are for the terrorists.  Either you are for Tebow and the Broncos or you are disin’  God.  And wasn’t that quite a Tim Tebow pre-game show.  I think there are many NFL players doing wonderful things but just don’t get or want an entire show about it…… I like the young man….full of promise.  I wish him every success…….cept beatin’ Tom….;)

and, yeah, I bet you’re all wondering how my weight loss is going….    .4 of a lb……by the digital scale.  It’s the damn bag of gummi savers I have every night.  Ridiculous!  I ordered another pair of jeans, this morning,  a size smaller than last time cuz they were too big.  I’ll be getting out of all this fleece some day soon.  I need to be stylin’ in those sz 4′s… sans a muffin top…..

ooh ooh….I wanna say something about Madonna’s remarks regarding Lady Gaga.  “meow…meow”…..look it up Madonna…..

I nearly forgot since it was really quite uneventful…..Romney winning the New Hampshire Primary….hmmmm  South Carolina is next.  Looks like it’s gonna be a slam dunk for him.  I think Romney would be a fair president….like Bush #1…thus making him a 1-term president too…….

There! I finally caught the times once….I got a little distracted going back to work last week….Oye!  What a week…. everything pretty much went to hell…..I didn’t exercise much, ate too much and was pretty much stressed out. Lots of shit going on….So….Monday afternoon, after I had used my weights and walked outside on a beautiful January day, I went to weigh myself buck naked before I showered.  I had gained 4 lbs.  Hmmm….I thought ”well I gained that last year”….so I looked it up in my journal and sure enough I weighed 5 lbs. lighter!! Hells Bells!! #nomoreexcuses #springisnear

Watched both GOP debates this last weekend….Saturday night’s was kinda dull….The @mtp one on Sunday morning was very good.   I loved Huntsman’s remark regarding a “trust deficit”….was one of those moments that makes me glad I was watching.  Today is the New Hampshire Primary so #justcan’tgetenuf   I’m hoping Huntsman pulls an upset.  Gingrich is so selfish….he knows he’s lost cuz of his reputation….so now he’s bringing down the favorite son..the one who could beat Obama….with an “if I can’t win no one can” mentality. It has been the Bain of existence for Romney…..

Gotta Go….I got a bed with my name on it waiting to watch the returns…….

Kinda boring Monday…..primarily psyching up…getting ready for back to work tomorrow.  Menfolk are all here and pretty much in my way…..

I forgot all about the Rose Bowl Parade and the football games on.  For me, of course, it’s all about #iacaucus…..I love seeing all the talking heads on TV in or @ places I’ve been. My only fear is everyone is going to find out what a wonderful state Iowa is…..Bry had it on Fox for a while and lo and behold there was Sarah.  It amuses me how they still think this woman has anything to say…….???? Bry thought she looked old….I looked…nah, she’s growing out her bangs. She doesn’t look cute anymore.  I don’t wanna get started on Sarah….wanna keep this short…..

Done with supper….gonna pack it in early tonight.  The Closer is on….love that show!  Gotta take off my black nail polish…you can almost hear the sigh of relief on Friday afternoons when it goes back on…….

Happy New Year….unfortunately I am really too tired to appreciate it. Had to stay up and watch Lady Gaga drop the ball in NYC. Then decided to stay up the extra hour for midnight here in Iowa. Then I had, shall we say, some overnight guests coming in and out at what seemed to be all hours.  Probably slept 2 hrs tops.  I feel hungover and I didn’t have a drop to drink……bummer.

Did watch all the news programs covering the #IowaCaucus this morning. Romney has a small lead….but the real story is Santorum’s rise in the polls. Even interviewed him on #mtp.  Sorry….I’m just not seeing it.   Like I didn’t see it with Rick Perry(too Bush-like), Herman Cain(puh-leez…he just got caught up in the attention on his book tour and really thought he’d play out the real life role of Mr. Smith goes to Washington)Newt Gingrich(another puh-leez….could you really imagine this guy as president?) So now it’s Santorum’s turn to play. He may fly in Iowa but no further….he reminds me of an older cousin of mine….void of any personality and just plain unattractive in so many ways. I almost forgot about Michele Bachmann.  She has really worked so hard.  I just don’t know what I would say to the woman after “hello”. We hold so little in common.   In another month many of the afore mentioned candidates will be a distant memory.  All the time, energy and money for naught…..

Just finished 2+ miles on treadmill.  If I don’t walk every day, I feel like I’m missing something.  My goal is to get my 6-pack belly back & keep my guns toned… I was recovering from back surgery this time last year.  I should say I have been recovering from back surgery…it’s been a long process.  All I know is I was in good shape before I had it and that was a good thing.  I need to keep that up.  Even though we’re getting older,  we should not give up on ourselves physically….there are too many benefits that we all know about so just do it.

It has been an extremely blustery day…..like 30-50mph wind gusts.  Not at all like yesterday with a high of 61 degrees.  Much colder but it isn’t going to last.  We’ve had an especially mild fall and now winter and I’m watching the sunrise/sunset times as our days grow longer…..makes me feel closer to summer.

Bry has not returned yet.  I think they may be cleaning the buck shot yesterday.  Not sure if this was it for the hunting season……I do love my husband but let’s face it…..I have a grown child I still take care of.  Hunting season provides me with just enough downtime so I don’t hurt myself……;)

The #lastdayof2011 is passing….it has been a good day .  Bry got up early and left for hunting.   I have done pretty much what I wish…

Excited to be in the writer’s chair again.  Feel like a real estate agent though…..there are 100′s of them too.  I will be talking alot about my 60th year this 2012…..I’m so ready.  And, of course, the 2012 elections with the Iowa Caucus right aroung the corner……way too much fun…..And I love love love social networking……Twitter being my newest love.  My exercising……  I walked 2 miles this morning.  I do my arm and ass weights twice a week.  “I have never eaten anything that makes me feel as good as thin does”…….Kate Moss ……that pretty much says it for me……

My posts are meant to be fun….au courant……. I  pride myself in keeping abreast of  current affairs so I may feel the unbridled need to express an opinion upon occasion. Please look upon them as a smorgasbord…take what you like & leave the rest…..

just loosening up

OK…I must confess.  I am a Facebook junkie.  I was warned this could happen.  I refused to heed the warning.  When I get up in the morning, I preferably check on my laptop for any new friend requests or postings I might wish to comment on.  If I have left the laptop in my bedroom the night before (bummer!), I start the PC up.  I can’t help it…..I need my fix. I’m still reading the same book I started last fall.  That’s bad.  Don’t know when this will stop.  Don’t know if I care.  I feel helpless and hopeless.  But I’ve gotten in touch with people I haven’t talked to in years.  Is that so bad?  

Had a wonderful Mother’s Day!  My boys got me a Wi Fit.  It is cool.  I love the Yoga!  I intend to use it alot this hot summer and in the cold of winter.  Right now I’m busy with the usual yard work and planting.  I am cutting down on all that planting business.  I try and remember how I hate watering everything when it’s hot and humid.  Then,  in what seems a matter of weeks, I’m dumping out all those pots for the fall.  I did put in some new perennials.  I’m excited to see how they do. 

 I celebrated my first year at Northview April 21st.   I only have 11 more days of work.  Can’t believe the school year will be over.  It will be fun next year cuz my nephew will be going there.  Two years of that, then the new high  school will be open.  I’m not sure about the new middle school.  There will be alot of changes coming.  I like working at the upper levels.  It’s harder work, but the time goes fast.

So I guess my life is not a total waste as I reflect.  But damn!  I wish I could finish my book.  But for now I’ll close.  Gotta check my wall….Peace:)

How I hate daylight savings time…I feel like I never get over it…still waking up at 4:00 a.m. in January!  I’ve already noticed increased noise pollution with just the few warm days we’ve had.  But to really ruin it for me, now it starts a month earlier and lasts a week later…Back in the good ole days daylight savings time ended on my birthday weekend.  Now we have to wait for the first weekend of the next month to get that extra hour back.  And I just can’t help but feel “it’s not nice to fool Mother Nature!”  I think the one and only good thing about all this is it reminds people to check their batteries in the smoke detectors, period.  But I could just jot that on my calendar….

Am still enjoying facebook!  Posted a new picture of myself…Love it!!!  And now that I’ve really simplified my life (?) I now have texting on my phone… Only thing is husband and sons are the only ones with it too that I know.  But they provide me with good practice.  I don’t know….some people are questioning my sanity, I think…but that’s nothing new!  I’m having fun!  Peace:)

Just when I felt I was making my life simpler, my sister peeked my interest in opening a Facebook account.  Little did I realize how horribly addictive it is.  I’m checking it all the time, changing my profile, inviting friends etc.  It’s madness…. but I love it!  The only problem is all my “friends” are sooooo young!  I feel like an ole geezer with my high school diploma in 1970!  They’ve all got college degrees and exciting  jobs.  They are all just beginning their lives and I’ve been around the block so many times I’m dizzy.  But they are so sweet and let the ole gal play along.   Who knows…..maybe sometime they’ll need some of my experience for whatever and I’ll be there!!  Ready to write on their walls!  Peace:)
